Meeting was held in the Ministry of Defense Industry with the Great Civil War veterans

On 5 May 2010 meeting in the Ministry of Defense Industry was held with the Great Civil War veterans who formerly worked in the Defense Industry facilities of the Republic.

In the beginning of the meeting with a minute of silence, memory of the Azerbaijani sons and daughters past away in the Great Civil War was remembered.

Deputy Defense Industry Minister Yahya Musayev also participated in the meeting organized by the Republic Committee of Trade Union Organization of the Defense Industry employees.

First of all Yahya Musayev congratulated the veterans on behalf of the Minister Yavar Jamalov and his own with the 65-th anniversary of the victory on the fascism, then he talked about heroism of our compatriots have been shown in the war.

Organizer of the Event Rofat Mufidzadeh, Chief Republic Committee of Trade Union Organization of the Defense Industry employees in his turn conveyed his sincere congratulations to the war veterans. Committee Chief stated that 700 thousand out of formerly total 3 million population of Azerbaijan were battling in the fore-fronts. He also noted that together with the man power Azerbaijani oil also had a huge role in the victory, inasmuch as “ashgar” substance used in the aviation and tanks to prevent fuel freeze as well as lubricants and eventually petrol itself which brought all combat vehicles into motion were sourced out of oil produced exactly in Azerbaijan. For the comparison R. Mufidzadeh mentioned that 80 percent of the total oil output of Former USSR belonged to Azerbaijan.

In the end of the meeting War veterans were presented bunches of flowers, gifted valued presents and granted with money awards.

In the end veterans who shared their remembrances with regard to war years expressed their gratitude for the care shown to them.
